About the Role
We are looking for a versatile and motivated IT Engineer to join our client's growing IT team. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines technical IT support with on-site engineering work across their nationwide network of sites.
With over 100 sites and continued expansion planned, this role offers excellent exposure, responsibility, and the opportunity to shape how IT services are delivered across the business.
You will work across two key areas:
- Technical IT support and systems management
- Physical installation and on-site engineering work
This position would suit a well-rounded technician with a strong work ethic, a practical mindset, and a genuine “can-do” attitude.

Key Responsibilities
Technical / Systems Responsibilities
- Working within a Microsoft 365 / Office 365 environment
- Managing Active Directory and Windows Server
- Configuring and managing Hyper-V virtual machines
- Software rollouts, upgrades, and project delivery from start to finish
- Printer installation, setup, and support
- Supporting Windows desktops, Android devices, and Apple iOS devices
- Ensuring best practices around Cyber Security and GDPR compliance
Engineering / On-Site Responsibilities
- Installing network switches, patch panels, and comms equipment
- Running and terminating Cat5e / Cat6 cabling (RJ45)
- Cabinet tidying and infrastructure improvements
- Installing wall-mounted equipment such as CCTV cameras and phone system bells
- Working at heights where required for installations
- Supporting multiple site visits, including occasional overnight stays due to travel distances
Key Skills & Experience
Engineering Skills
- Comfortable working at heights
- Experience installing wall-mounted equipment (CCTV, bells, etc.)
- Confident working with Cat5e/Cat6 cabling and RJ45 connectors
- Experience installing network switches, patch panels, and comms infrastructure
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Technical Skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills in a Windows environment
- Active Directory administration
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online
- Windows Server setup and management
- Hyper-V VM setup and management
- Printer installation and support
- Solid understanding of Cyber Security principles
- Good understanding of GDPR requirements
- Comfortable supporting Android and Apple iOS devices
Working Pattern & On-Call
Our centres operate 7 days a week, and the IT team supports an on-call rota providing remote-only weekend support.
- Once fully trained, you will join the rota
- Typically, 1 weekend per month on-call
