We are seeking a dedicated IT Lecturer to join our dynamic team in the Department of Creative Industries. This role is crucial for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality learning materials and programmes across various modules or within a specific subject area. The ideal candidate will inspire and lead students to achieve high standards of success through innovative teaching strategies and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Day-to-day of the role:- Develop and deliver dynamic learning programmes that meet the needs of learners, employing a diverse range of teaching and learning strategies.
- Identify and assess learners’ needs throughout their programme of study.
- Plan, design, and deliver learning programmes/sessions and facilitate learning in line with course aims, objectives, modes of assessment, and accreditation.
- Monitor, evaluate, and enhance the quality and effectiveness of learning programmes and personal teaching practices.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Support the promotion of courses and the recruitment and enrolment of learners.
- Maintain a safe learning environment, promoting the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance.
- Deliver outstanding learning experiences using creative strategies to inspire and engage learners.
- Provide academic and pastoral support to help learners achieve their goals.
- Assess and provide feedback on learners’ work to support improvement.
- Lead a programme or course, ensuring high standards of behaviour and performance.
- Relevant degree/professional/vocational qualification at Level 3 or above.
- Level 2 (or above) qualifications in English and Maths.
- Teaching qualification in line with current Further Education (FE) requirements, or willingness to obtain one.
- Recent training and updating in the relevant area.
- Experience in teaching or training.
- Significant experience within the IT profession/subject area.
- Understanding or experience of promoting and embedding widening participation, inclusive learning, and equal opportunities.
- Strong organisational skills to ensure the achievement of deadlines.
- Experience in continuous quality improvement and contributing to a curriculum area to ensure high-quality outcomes.
