IT Manager

An IT Manager is required for our client based in Doncaster for an initial 6-month contract opportunity. The role will be primarily based on site, there may be some opportunity to WFH (but quite limited), therefore, please only apply if you can commit to this.

This is an exciting opportunity to Lead on the development and implementation of a new ICT infrastructure... from scratch, with key accountability across networks and telephony, cybersecurity, email systems, server and desktop environments, storage, and virtualisation. The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a clear enterprise and operational roadmap that supports current and future technology needs.

This role will also provide expert technical support to ensure the successful deployment of ICT projects, while maintaining a resilient, secure, and high-performing ICT service across all operations.

Experience within aviation, transport & logistics would be highly advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement and review all IT related policies and procedures. This will cover the operation and usage of IT equipment and software programs, ensure robust policies and procedures are in place for the usage and security of all IT systems.
  2. Lead digital transformation initiatives to improve user experience and operational efficiency. Ensuring the delivery of a robust IT infrastructure which is secure.
  3. Manage IT budgets in line with financial procedures ensuring budgets are managed effectively whilst delivering service objectives and value for money.
  4. Develop implement and review a robust maintenance and performance plan for critical systems.
  5. Ensuring the ICT Infrastructure, systems and software meet essential security requirements (e.g. CAP1753, PSN and PCI), with proactive monitoring in place always and engagement with regulatory bodies. Including the development of cyber security protocols to ensure all operations are secure and critical systems are identified.
  6. Responsible for scheduling all maintenance and installation work, ensuring that the operational ICT service is safe and secure either directly or managed services.
  7. Lead on ICT procurements, including specification writing, developing clarification questions and scoring tender submissions. 
  8. Responsible for significant aspects of installing, upgrading, operation, control and effective use of local and wide area networks for the communication of data, voice, text or images. Manages the network to provide agreed levels of service and data integrity. Ensures that network performance and traffic is proactively monitored and reviewed.
  9. Develop and maintain the ICT Infrastructure roadmaps, ensuring the strategic direction is clearly articulated, planned and deployed to ensure ICT is fit for the future.
  10. Lead on key infrastructure projects ensuring all aspects of governance are followed and progress reported in a timely manner to ensure effective and efficient projects are delivered.
