Technical Project Manager

  • Contract Type: 3-month contract, Inside IR35
  • Location: Hybrid (3 days in London, 2 days remote)

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex technology initiatives. This role is crucial in ensuring that solutions are delivered iteratively, efficiently, and align with both business and technical objectives. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge among stakeholders, business analysts, and delivery leadership, employing a mix of structured project management discipline and the adaptive mindset of Agile practices.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and maintain delivery plans, RAID logs, dependencies, and resource forecasts across multiple workstreams.
  • Ensure project teams follow the most appropriate delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) based on project needs.
  • Represent the Strategic Planning & Performance function in cross-organisational meetings and governance boards as required.
  • Act as the main interface between delivery teams, business owners, suppliers, and technical specialists on behalf of the function.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clarity, alignment, and timely decision-making.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives) and support teams in applying Agile practices effectively.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, using metrics and team feedback to optimise flow and performance.
  • Identify and remove impediments, escalating where necessary to unblock team progress.
  • Coach team members and stakeholders in Agile behaviours, collaboration, and self-organisation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Agile Delivery & Frameworks: Proficient understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean) and experience applying them in real delivery environments.
  • Technical Delivery: Solid grasp of modern technology delivery (e.g., cloud services, APIs, integration patterns etc).
  • Project & Delivery Management: Expertise in planning, monitoring, and controlling delivery across scope, risks, dependencies, and timelines.
  • Stakeholder & Communication Skills: Ability to manage senior stakeholders, run effective governance forums, and support decision-making.
  • Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement: Mindset oriented towards experimentation, adaptation, and incremental enhancement.
  • Professional certification in project or programme management (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, PMP).
  • Professional certification in Agile Delivery or Methodologies (e.g., CSM, PSM, APMG, SAFe).
