An IT Project Support Engineer/Junior IT Project Manager is required for our public sector client who are based in Manchester. If you are a technically minded IT professional looking to take the next step, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an infrastructure or service desk background who is ready to develop into a fully-fledged Project Manager.

We’re looking for a Junior IT Project Manager to join the Projects team, delivering a range of small and manageable end-to-end technology projects. You’ll receive excellent support and guidance from experienced Project Managers while taking ownership of real IT project delivery from day one.

Experience required:

This role is perfect for someone who is currently:

  • A Service Desk Analyst wanting to step up, or
  • A Junior Infrastructure Engineer looking to move into project delivery, or
  • Already supporting IT projects and ready to take the next step

You’ll need:

  • A solid technical grounding in IT infrastructure
  • A genuine interest in project management
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Confidence to work with suppliers, internal teams, and project stakeholders
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from more senior PMs

Responsibilities:

You’ll lead and support infrastructure-focused projects such as:

  • Server upgrade projects
  • Certificate and authentication projects
  • Small-scale technical change initiatives
  • Infrastructure improvements and enhancements

These projects are designed to help you build confidence, grow your skill set, and progress into larger delivery responsibilities over time. There are opportunities for progression within a respected Projects team.
