IT Support Technician to provide reliable, responsive, and professional IT support  This role is crucial in ensuring that all users can operate efficiently with minimal disruption while maintaining IT security, compliance, and system integrity. This hands-on position supports both office and manufacturing environments and requires strong ownership and accountability without line management responsibilities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • End-User Support (1st & 2nd Line):
    • Provide on-site and remote technical support to employees across office and manufacturing functions.
    • Log, prioritise, and resolve support tickets in line with agreed service levels.
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, access, and connectivity issues.
    • Set up new starters (devices, accounts, permissions) and process leavers.
    • Support laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
  • Infrastructure & Systems Support:
    • Support local network infrastructure including switches and Wi-Fi.
    • Maintain user accounts within Active Directory / Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
    • Assist with server monitoring, backups, and system health checks.
    • Apply patches and updates in line with IT security policies.
    • Escalate complex issues appropriately to senior IT or third-party providers.
  • Manufacturing & Production IT Support:
    • Provide shop-floor IT support remotely between multiple sites or in person when needed.
    • Respond quickly to minimise downtime affecting production.
    • Coordinate planned updates outside of core production hours where required.
    • Support device connectivity and barcode systems.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance:
    • Follow company IT security and data protection policies.
    • Ensure endpoint protection and updates are maintained.
    • Support periodic access control reviews.
    • Immediately escalate suspected security incidents.
  • Asset & Vendor Coordination:
    • Maintain accurate IT asset registers and licence records.
    • Support hardware procurement and equipment lifecycle management.
    • Liaise with third-party IT support providers where required.
  • Documentation & Continuous Improvement:
    • Maintain clear documentation of systems and support procedures.
    • Identify recurring issues and recommend practical improvements.
    • Support IT projects such as upgrades, migrations, new systems, and site rollouts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years’ experience in an IT support role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networks.
  • Experience supporting Windows environments and Microsoft 365.
  • Basic understanding of networking principles.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems.
  • Clear communication skills and professional approach.
  • Desirable: Experience in a manufacturing or production environment, familiarity with ERP systems, knowledge of cybersecurity best practice, and relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.).
