An IT Systems Support Engineer is required for our client based in Skelmersdale.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment, enjoys autonomy, and loves improving the way technology supports the business.

The successful candidate will act as the escalation point for the Service Delivery team, handling challenging 2nd and some 3rd line issues, managing modern device management platforms, and leading key elements of Microsoft 365.

You’ll work with Cyber Security, Digital Workplace and Service Delivery teams to enhance systems, improve security posture, and help drive the organisation’s technology roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on escalation for complex technical issues across the business.
  • Define and implement software deployment processes and improvements.
  • Own and optimise our Microsoft 365, Intune, and Entra ID environments.
  • Build and manage software deployment roadmaps using Manage Engine Enterprise Central.
  • Support Cyber Security with escalated compliance or security incidents.
  • Produce clear, high-quality documentation, SOPs, and handover runbooks.
  • Support digitally-focused transformation projects, including M365 workload migrations.

Experience:

  • 3+ years in a technically demanding IT role (ideally multi-site).
  • Experience with:
    • Intune (app deployment, update management, conditional access troubleshooting)
    • Microsoft 365 & Entra ID
    • Endpoint management (device health, compliance, reporting)
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and structured problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, autonomous approach to your work.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Manage Engine OS builds or deployment tools.
  • Scripting (PowerShell) and/or software packaging (Win32/MSIX).
  • Syspro ERP knowledge (desirable).
  • Multi-site IT support background.
