Join our Legal Division as an Information Governance Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing our information governance frameworks. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior managers and support staff across all levels, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and enhancing our information management systems.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Maintain corporate registers, systems, and databases in compliance with legislative obligations and corporate standards.
  • Administer relevant corporate ICT systems, organise service processes and procedures, and compile, analyse, and interpret various reports including service performance, statistics, and financial reports.
  • Produce and format reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other documentation; formulate effective communications such as emails and letters.
  • Take minutes and track actions of meetings, including those that are sensitive or confidential.
  • Deal directly with the public in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Support and advise staff to ensure effective responses to requests under the Data Protection Act 2018, the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
  • Produce basic communication and promotional materials, update intranet and internet sites, and maintain awareness of relevant EU and UK legislation and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in information governance or a similar role within a legal or compliance setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information Act 2000, and other relevant legislation.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Proficient in using ICT systems and producing detailed reports and documentation.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of producing clear and effective materials and dealing with public inquiries.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, supporting various departments within the organisation.
