Information Rights Officer
We are currently recruiting for an Information Rights Officer to join the Metropolitan Police Service on a 6-month contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of information rights requests, including Freedom of Information (FOI) and Subject Access Requests (SARs), ensuring compliance with data protection and information governance legislation. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and the ability to manage a varied caseload involving sensitive information.
Key Details:
- Location: Marlow House or Newlands Park
- Rate: £22.42 PAYE / £29.11 Umbrella per hour
- Contract: 6 months
- Working Pattern: Full-time, Hybrid
- Clearance: CTC/NPPV2
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Information Rights requests and related casework
- Handling Freedom of Information (FOI) and Subject Access Requests (SARs)
- Reviewing information and assessing suitability for disclosure
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to gather and review information
- Drafting clear, accurate and legally compliant responses
- Applying Data Protection Act and UK GDPR principles
- Maintaining accurate records and case management systems
- Supporting wider Information Governance and compliance activities
Essential Experience:
- Previous experience within Information Rights, FOI, SAR, Data Protection or Information Governance
- Strong written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines
- Experience handling confidential or sensitive information
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Public sector experience would be highly advantageous
