A leading Financial Services organisation in London, who operate at the top of their industry, are seeking an experienced IT Procurement Manager / Category Manager to join their London-based Procurement team.

This role sits at the centre of the organisation’s technology function, with responsibility for leading IT procurement activity, managing key supplier relationships, and negotiating complex contracts. You will ensure strong governance and regulatory compliance while supporting the bank’s wider technology strategy.

Working closely with IT leadership, the CIO Office, Legal, Risk, and Information Security, you will play a key role in delivering cost-effective and well-controlled procurement outcomes across the global IT estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies across IT categories, aligned with business objectives and risk appetite
  • Lead end-to-end procurement activity across key IT spend areas, including:
  • Software and licensing
  • Hardware and infrastructure
  • Cloud services
  • IT services and outsourcing
  • Data centres and networking
  • Negotiate contracts with technology vendors, securing optimal commercial terms and appropriate risk controls
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including IT, Legal, Risk, and Information Security
  • Support vendor due diligence, onboarding, and ongoing supplier management
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives, driving efficiencies and consolidation opportunities
  • Ensure all sourcing activity is conducted competitively, transparently, and in line with internal policies
  • Maintain compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks, including FCA, PRA, DORA, and EBA
  • Analyse and present complex financial and procurement data to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
  • Contribute to governance forums and procurement committees, preparing supporting documentation as required

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience in IT procurement within banking, or wider financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of IT sourcing categories (software, cloud, infrastructure, outsourcing)
  • Experience in supplier negotiation and contract management
  • Understanding of financial services regulatory frameworks (e.g. FCA, PRA, DORA, EBA)
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Excellent analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex financial and contractual data
  • Track record of delivering cost optimisation and savings targets
  • Familiarity with procurement governance, risk management, and compliance processes
