Integration Engineer
Workplace Integration Engineer (DV Cleared / Single UK National) Basingstoke | Fully On-site | £650 per day | Contract
We’re supporting a high-security programme and are looking for a skilled Workplace Integration Engineer to join a multi-disciplined agile team based on site in Basingstoke.
This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys taking configuration designs, automating them end-to-end, and seeing solutions through from initial design into production and early life support. You’ll be working in a challenging, secure environment where collaboration, quality, and reliability are critical.
What you’ll be doing
- Taking product and configuration designs and turning them into automated, repeatable software packages
- Using PowerShell and Python to package, deploy, validate, and test solutions
- Owning delivery of work packages from design and prototyping through to production
- Building automated and unit tests to confirm expected and unexpected behaviours
- Supporting user pilots, production rollout, and early life support
- Producing and maintaining design, support, and operational documentation
- Delivering ongoing enhancements and configuration changes as user requirements evolve
- Working closely with other engineers in a collaborative agile team, sharing responsibility and challenges
What we’re looking for
- Strong scripting capability in PowerShell and Python
- Advanced knowledge of Windows enterprise systems administration
- Hands-on experience delivering configuration via:
- GPOs, Registry, Filesystem
- PowerShell cmdlets and WMI
- Windows Update, patching, and Windows Installer
- Experience working in high-security environments
- Comfortable troubleshooting complex issues and owning problems through to resolution
Desirable experience
- Agile software development and delivery
- Active Directory, PKI, VMware virtualisation
- Windows Server 2019, gold image builds, and system hardening (GPOs)
- Nexus or similar configuration repositories
- Automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
- Automated testing using Robot Framework
Role details
- Rate: £650 per day
- Contract: 6-month initial engagement
- Location: Basingstoke (BSN01) – 5 days per week on-site
- Clearance: DV / High-level clearance (Single UK National only)
- Working pattern: Monday to Friday
- Start: ASAP
