Junior Product Owner

Our client, a global and fast-growing organisation operating at the heart of the technology and supply chain sector, is seeking a Junior Product Owner. Supporting businesses worldwide with critical products and solutions, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their product career while working closely with experienced professionals and gaining hands-on exposure across the full product lifecycle.

You’ll play a key role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, helping ensure product features are well-defined, delivered efficiently, and aligned to business goals.

This is a permanent position with a salary banding of £45,000 to £55,000 + excellent benefits. The organisation is based in Newbury, Berkshire but the role can be either on a hybrid or remote basis.

Key Responsibilities

Backlog Management

  • Support the ongoing refinement and prioritisation of the product backlog
  • Write clear, structured user stories and ensure work is ready for development

Requirements & Discovery

  • Gather and document requirements from stakeholders
  • Translate user needs into actionable deliverables aligned to product objectives

Sprint & Delivery Support

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Provide clarity to development teams to keep delivery on track

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Assist in coordinating and executing UAT
  • Validate delivered features against acceptance criteria and capture feedback

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate updates and gather feedback from key stakeholders
  • Escalate risks and issues to the Product Owner where needed

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain product documentation, release notes, and knowledge bases
  • Support reporting using insights and basic analytics

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Work closely with developers, QA, UX, and wider business teams
  • Help remove minor blockers to ensure smooth delivery

Continuous Development

  • Build product and domain knowledge
  • Develop agile expertise and progress toward independent product ownership

About You

  • Experience in a product, business analysis, or similar role (or strong transferable skills)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
