Lead DevOps Engineer Security Cleared

This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects, from creating banks on Kubernetes and AWS to building streaming analytics solutions.

Lead Engineer

  • Annual Salary: £85,000 - £99,000
  • Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
    • We can consider candidates based in Manchester, London & Leeds)
  • Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days on-site)

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Spend most of your time on client work, focusing on delivering high-quality technology solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with users to create minimum viable products that are ready for use.
  • Take a holistic approach to engineering that addresses technology, process, and structure to make a lasting impact.
  • Engage in internal projects, training, and development to expand expertise and contribute to the company's growth.
  • Operate within a flexible hybrid working model, balancing between remote work and on-site presence at client locations or local offices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience leading a team of 4+ engineers and acting as the technical owner of a project.
  • Strong experience with AWS Platform DevOps, Infrastructure Automation & Deployment.
  • Demonstrable experience in automating operations tasks with scripting languages.
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining production software delivery pipelines using common CI/CD tools (e.g., AWS DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab, CircleCI).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Cloudformation).
  • Drive for self-improvement and eagerness to learn new programming languages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organisation and use cloud-native products to build bespoke applications from scratch.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience supporting and operating production systems.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tooling (e.g., Ansible).
  • Python coding skills.
