Network & IT Support Specialist – Drive Connectivity Across a Leading Retail Tech Team!

Location: Head Office (London) + travel to Stores in Central and West London (fully paid for)Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 10:00am–6:30pm (Head Office)Additional Support: Remote support required until 9:00pm Mon–Fri and across weekends (very occasionally needed once every 6 months)Salary: £45,000–£55,000 + Bonus

We’re looking for a Network & IT Support Specialist to join our client’s rapidly growing retail business, supporting 12 supermarket locations and their London Head Office. You’ll be the go-to expert for connectivity and systems stability, ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable technology across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Networking & Infrastructure (Core Focus)

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN/SD-WAN connections across all sites.
  • Manage firewalls, routers, switches, and ensure robust network security.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively resolve connectivity issues.
  • Oversee hardware installations (POS, PCs, printers, CCTV) with network integration.

Retail Systems & POS

  • Support and update POS/payment terminal software.
  • Ensure seamless data sync between stores and head office.
  • Troubleshoot till and payment issues for store staff.

Cloud & Software Systems

  • Administer Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and ERP platforms.
  • Maintain compliance with software licensing and security standards.

Cybersecurity & Data Protection

  • Deploy and manage endpoint protection, antivirus, and firewalls.
  • Control user accounts, permissions, and enforce GDPR/PCI DSS compliance.

IT Support & Helpdesk

  • Operate the IT helpdesk, resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Provide 1st–2nd line support for hardware, software, and network queries.

Strategic Projects

  • Research and recommend new networking and IT solutions.
  • Support new store rollouts with full IT and network setup.
  • Build dashboards for network monitoring and business intelligence.
