Night Warehouse Operative

The Opportunity - 

Our client is seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join their busy warehouse team within the fresh produce sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail are highly valued.

The successful candidate will support the smooth receipt, storage and dispatch of palletised goods while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately picking customer orders
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Manual handling of palletised stock
  • Completing warehouse and loading administration
  • Using handheld scanners and stock control systems
  • Operating ride-on pallet trucks safely and efficiently
  • Emptying store bins and replenishing stock as required
  • Supplying production operations with required materials
  • Carrying out general housekeeping duties
  • Operating cardboard and waste compactors
  • Monitoring equipment performance and reporting faults
  • Communicating effectively via telephone and email
  • Assisting with site security and lockdown procedures
  • Following all health and safety procedures and company policies
  • Supporting the wider warehouse team as required

Essential Requirements

  • Current or recently expired Ride-On Pallet Truck Licence
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good level of numeracy
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Basic IT skills, including the ability to use stock control systems
  • Willingness to train and gain Counterbalance Forklift capability
  • Strong attention to detail and a positive work ethic

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a fresh produce environment
  • Counterbalance Forklift experience
  • Experience using warehouse management or stock control systems
  • Familiarity with handheld scanning technology
  • Experience with live stock management systems
  • Understanding of goods receiving, picking and load-building processes

Hours of Work

  • Fixed 12-hour shifts between 14:00 and 02:00
  • 4 days on, 4 days off rotation
  • Flexibility required to meet operational requirements when necessary

Holiday Entitlement

  • 20 days annual leave per year
  • Holiday year runs from January to December
