Onsite Technical Services Engineer

A global leader in digital transformation and IT services is supporting a major international client, they are seeking an Onsite Technical Services Engineer, you will be the face of IT support, delivering exceptional service to end users, including VIPs and senior executives. Your responsibilities will include managing fault calls, service requests, and planned changes, providing Smart Hands support, and manning the client’s TechDeck. This involves tasks such as PC/Laptop builds, OS configuration, Active Directory administration, and some hardware repairs.

You’ll take ownership of complex cases, ensuring end-to-end resolution, and may also be involved in project work. Flexibility to work offsite and occasionally out of hours is required.

This is an initial 6-month contract based onsite at the office in Southampton with a daily rate of £200 per day via an Umbrella company (inside IR35).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide deskside support for hardware and software issues.
• Manage fault calls, service requests, and planned changes.
• Deliver Smart Hands support and maintain the TechDeck.
• Perform PC/Laptop builds, OS configuration, and AD administration.
• Handle asset management and maintain accurate documentation.
• Build strong relationships with end users, including VIPs and senior management.
• Support integration of new technologies into the workplace.

Mandatory Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage at all levels.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in:

  • Office 365
  • Windows 11
• Experience in deskside support and asset management.
• Ability to create clear and accurate documentation.
