Location: full time office based, Croydon, Operations Support Group, Unit 1, Pegasus Road, CR0 4RN
Pay Rate: £17.56 per hour PAYE or £22.67 per hour Umbrella
Contract: Initial 3-Month Contract
Hours: Full-Time, 7.4 hours per day, 5 days per week

We are recruiting an Operations Support Group (OSG) Technician to join the London Fire Brigade's Operations Support team in Croydon. This is a varied role that combines logistics, equipment maintenance, driving and operational support, ensuring firefighters across London have the equipment they need to protect communities and save lives.
Working from the Operations Support Centre in Croydon, you will regularly travel to fire stations and operational sites across London to deliver, collect and maintain essential firefighting equipment and supplies.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering and collecting equipment, supplies and operational kit across London fire stations.
- Transporting essential protective equipment and firefighting gear.
- Assisting with the maintenance, servicing and inspection of specialist equipment.
- Charging and handling compressed air cylinders and related equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records using computerised systems.
- Managing stock levels and supporting inventory control processes.
- Liaising with colleagues, suppliers and contractors to ensure equipment remains operational and available when needed.
- Supporting operational teams with day-to-day requirements and urgent requests.
- Travelling to various Brigade locations throughout Greater London as required.
What We're Looking For
We are keen to hear from candidates who have:
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Experience in a practical, operational, logistics, warehouse or technical environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good IT skills, including email and record keeping.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A proactive and flexible approach to work.
- The ability to safely lift and move equipment as part of day-to-day duties.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
