Payroll Specialist

Interim Payroll Implementation Manager - Leicester based 

£300–£400 per day | 3-month contract | On-site 5 days a week | Start: Immediate

We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Implementation Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a new payroll system. This is a hands-on, on-site interim role, ideal for someone who has successfully delivered payroll system implementations before and can hit the ground running.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the full implementation lifecycle: design, build, test, deploy
  • Manage data migration, cleansing, mapping, and validation
  • Configure system rules, workflows, pay elements, and reporting
  • Oversee UAT, parallel runs, and issue resolution
  • Improve payroll processes, controls, and documentation
  • Train payroll/HR users and support go-live stabilisation
  • Act as main contact for the vendor and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure delivery on time, to scope, and to high quality standards

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience implementing UK payroll systems
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and processes
  • Excellent project management and data skills
  • Ability to influence and work cross-functionally (HR, Finance, IT)
  • Highly organised, detail-driven, and able to work at pace
