Payroll Specialist
Interim Payroll Implementation Manager - Leicester based
£300–£400 per day | 3-month contract | On-site 5 days a week | Start: Immediate
We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Implementation Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of a new payroll system. This is a hands-on, on-site interim role, ideal for someone who has successfully delivered payroll system implementations before and can hit the ground running.
What you’ll do
- Lead the full implementation lifecycle: design, build, test, deploy
- Manage data migration, cleansing, mapping, and validation
- Configure system rules, workflows, pay elements, and reporting
- Oversee UAT, parallel runs, and issue resolution
- Improve payroll processes, controls, and documentation
- Train payroll/HR users and support go-live stabilisation
- Act as main contact for the vendor and internal stakeholders
- Ensure delivery on time, to scope, and to high quality standards
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience implementing UK payroll systems
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and processes
- Excellent project management and data skills
- Ability to influence and work cross-functionally (HR, Finance, IT)
- Highly organised, detail-driven, and able to work at pace
