My client, a leader in the public sector, is seeking a data engineer to work on a permanent full time basis, both from home and the London office 3 days a week.

In this role you will support the client to create business and user value from data, by undertaking data engineering projects which improve and combine data from back office and customer facing systems, utilising a shared data platform.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with services to promote and develop solutions utilising Microsoft Fabric at its core. Translating business data and reporting requirements into: OneLake solutions, data pipelines, transformations and visualisation outputs through Power BI.
• Provide technical support for Microsoft Fabric, offering advice and guidance for end users to achieve live data connections, ensuring best practice and use of service gateways.
• Work with colleagues across the Digital, Information and Technology Service and beyond to improve the clients approach to building scalable data models, driving cardinal relationships between datasets so that data scientists and analysts can easily derive insights, including accessing sensitive data in back office systems, extracting and loading into the data warehouse or similar environments.
