Platform Engineer (eDV Cleared):
Contract Details:
- Start: ASAP to 30 September 2026 - to be extended
- Full-time, onsite
- Location: UK South
- Rate: opened to conversation
- SFIA level 4–6
- Clearance: eDV active - Mandatory
Responsibilities:
- Build, operate and maintain Kubernetes platforms with a focus on OpenShift
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based platform services
- Manage container orchestration, scheduling and cluster lifecycle
- Configure and support networking including DNS, load balancing, ingress/egress and network security
- Automate platform operations using infrastructure-as-code
- Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, including root cause analysis
- Support upgrades, patching and capacity planning
- Contribute to platform standards, documentation and best practice
Skills and Experience:
- Strong hands-on Linux administration in production environments
- Proven Kubernetes operations and troubleshooting experience
- OpenShift expertise including operators, RBAC, routes and image streams
- Solid networking knowledge across TCP/IP, DNS, routing and security
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker or CRI-O
- Experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana and ELK
- Strong problem-solving ability in complex, distributed systems
