Senior Intelligence Officer - Public Health

Join a leading local authority in a pivotal role as a Public Health Data Intelligence and Insight Officer within the Communications, Strategy and Performance division. This role is essential for promoting and leading the use of data, intelligence, and insight to inform decision-making and shape organisational policy, strategy, and priorities.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Analyse and report data and insight to help shape decision-making and inform plans and strategies, identifying areas of concern or opportunity.
- Produce dashboards, forecasts, plans, reports, bulletins, and presentations for a range of stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver tools and guidance to drive a culture of evidence-based decision-making across the organisation.
- Utilise all Business Intelligence systems to capture, QA, analyse, and report on data and key activity.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the organisation, acting as a key adviser on issues of data, intelligence, and insight.
- Play a leading role in ensuring the organisation fulfils its statutory and other obligations regarding data and statistical returns.
- Provide management support, advice, and guidance to other staff in the Service, including checking and editing work, making recommendations, and advising on the production of business intelligence work.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with Public Health Datasets.
- Experience of data analysis and interpreting statistical data in a large complex organisation.
- Developed technical skills in establishing and managing large databases/data warehouses.
- Strong quantitative analytical skills using tools such as Excel, R, Python, and SQL.
- Experience with data visualisation software, such as Power BI.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work as a team and on own initiative, determining priorities and meeting important deadlines.
