Join a fast-scaling food start-up that’s revolutionising the UK food scene with Latin American recipes and a modern, sustainability-led approach. We are entering an exciting scale-up phase and are seeking a Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of our purchasing function. This role offers the chance to manage our end-to-end supply chain, from imports from Mexico to UK supplier management and daily production planning.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage purchasing and supplier relationships across UK and Latin America supply chains.
- Place purchase orders, track confirmations, and manage lead times, focusing on our 4-month+ import cycle.
- Communicate in Spanish with Latin American suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure smooth order flow and on-time delivery.
- Support and eventually own advance payment scheduling for suppliers, coordinating with the finance function.
- Lead cost-saving projects across all purchases, including EPD projects.
- Be the guardian of our stock ensuring accuracy, rotation, write-off minimisation and maintaining ERP integrity.
- Coordinate inbound deliveries and import logistics from port to warehouse.
- Monitor inventory levels by SKU and production line, flagging risk and opportunity proactively.
- Feed demand and stock data into production planning to support our Production Manager and the wider ops team.
- Identify and implement EPD and cost-saving initiatives across purchasing, packaging, and supply chain.
- Support factory process improvements and operational workflow redesigns.
- Own the optimisation and day-to-day management of our inventory and ERP systems.
- Evaluate and implement additional tools, integrations, or automation to improve data flow across purchasing, stock, and production.
- Build and maintain reporting frameworks covering stock, purchasing, and operational KPIs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Fluent Spanish speaker (written and verbal), for direct communication with Latin American suppliers.
- Demonstrably tech-savvy with experience optimising an ERP, WMS, or inventory system. Experience with Cin7 Core is a strong advantage.
- Proven experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or food operations.
- Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills, capable of building models, dashboards, and reports from scratch.
- Hands-on experience with demand planning and production scheduling.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations. i.e goods-in, picking, stock control.
