SAP Finance Systems Manager
London Fire Brigade (LFB) are looking to recruit a SAP Finance Systems Manager on a permanent basis within their Finance Directorate. London Fire Brigade is one of the largest and most complex fire and rescue services in the world, playing a vital role in keeping London safe. This is a rare opportunity to take on a senior leadership role at the heart of the Brigade’s finance transformation, with real scope to influence how critical financial systems support a frontline emergency service.
The role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, the SAP Finance Systems Manager will lead the administration, ongoing development and user support of the Brigade’s recently implemented SAP S/4HANA and SAP Ariba platforms. You will manage a small specialist team and support over 5,000 users across the organisation.
Salary: £56,071–£72,807 per annum (dependent on experience)
Role type: Permanent, full-time position
Location: Southwark, with hybrid working – 2 days per week in the office
Key responsibilities include:
Finance systems management
- Leading the stabilisation, optimisation and enhancement of SAP S/4HANA and SAP Ariba to maximise benefits realisation.
- Advising on future finance systems developments and improvements.
- Managing and controlling financial systems and processes, ensuring they are resilient, well documented and appropriately resourced.
- Designing and improving end-to-end financial processes to meet corporate and service needs, working with suppliers and delivery partners where required.
Management and development
- Managing, motivating and developing a team of 2–3 finance systems professionals.
- Ensuring delivery of high-quality services within agreed timescales.
- Developing and maintaining training and development plans to keep technical and management skills current.
- Supporting the wider Finance team during key reporting and year-end periods.
Supporting the organisation
- Overseeing first-line user support across finance systems, ensuring effective prioritisation, resolution and follow-up training.
- Leading relationships with software suppliers, delivery partners, senior stakeholders, and internal and external auditors.
- Ensuring users are able to work effectively with finance systems through training, guidance notes and user documentation.
