SD-WAN Project Deployment Engineer

• Contract Duration: 6 Months Initially
• Location: London - Hybrid Working Model with some potential oversea's travel.

• Salary: £600-650 INSIDE IR35.

We are seeking an experienced SD-WAN Network Engineer to join our infrastructure team as they transform our global WAN environment. This role is key to the successful deployment and integration of our new Fortinet-based SD-WAN solution. You will work alongside global teams, local IT support, and third-party providers to deliver a robust and secure SD-WAN infrastructure.

• Deliver the technical deployment of SD-WAN across 30+ global sites, following global standards and security protocols.
• Configure and manage Fortinet SD-WAN devices, ensuring seamless migration from Ipanema.
• Collaborate with network architects and global infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with the broader WAN strategy.
• Work with local teams to ensure site readiness, perform site surveys (as needed), and coordinate testing and failover validation.
• Maintain and update network documentation, including topology diagrams and change records.
• Monitor and optimise SD-WAN performance, using telemetry and analytics tools to ensure reliability and performance.
• Troubleshoot network issues and liaise with internal teams and external vendors to resolve problems quickly.
• Support firewall and routing policies consistent with corporate standards.
• Participate in change management processes and contribute to project reporting and updates.

• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet SD-WAN solutions.
• Previous experience deploying SD-WAN over traditional WAN technologies (e.g., MPLS, leased lines).
• Solid understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), IP addressing, and network segmentation.
• Experience working in enterprise environments with strict security and change control processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a regional or global team.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Desirable: Experience with Ipanema or other legacy WAN optimisation technologies, familiarity with global networks in regulated environments, and relevant certifications (e.g., NSE4+, CCNP, JNCIS).
