We're seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team responsible for securing business-critical and customer-facing network environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a cybersecurity professional who enjoys working across network security, threat management, vulnerability assessment and incident response within a technically challenging environment.
The Role
As a Security Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining, improving and protecting secure network infrastructures. You'll act as a cybersecurity subject matter expert, helping to design, implement and support security solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practice.
Responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing and supporting security solutions across internal and customer environments
- Monitoring security tools and investigating security incidents
- Managing vulnerability assessments and recommending remediation activities
- Supporting the development of security policies, procedures and standards
- Providing cybersecurity guidance to engineering and IT teams
- Maintaining SIEM, IDS and IPS technologies
- Contributing to incident response and security management processes
- Producing technical documentation and security reports
- Supporting continuous improvement of network and information security controls
About You
To be successful, you'll have experience in several of the following areas:
- Cisco Firewalls, Routers and Switches
- Juniper technologies
- SIEM platforms
- IDS/IPS solutions
- Vulnerability management
- Penetration testing
- Computer forensic tools
- Secure network design and administration
- ISO27001 and GDPR compliance
You'll also possess:
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- A proactive and organised approach
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Eligibility to obtain SC Security Clearance
Desirable Experience
- Defence or government network environments
- Telecommunications, satellite communications or maritime communications
- Experience supporting secure customer-facing infrastructure
