Senior AWS Platform Engineer

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Location: London (Hybrid)

Join our team as a Senior AWS Platform Engineer for a 12-month contract. You will be pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining a cloud-based data platform hosted within AWS, aimed at generating occupancy insights and supporting data-driven decision making.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain AWS-based services and infrastructure.
  • Develop data ingestion and integration services.
  • Enhance and maintain APIs and event-driven services.
  • Manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Implement secure deployment and operational practices.
  • Troubleshoot platform, integration, and deployment issues.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to implement architecture designs.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, and performance requirements.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation and support continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Active SC Clearance.
  • Extensive experience in AWS cloud platforms within production environments.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions.
  • Strong Python skills for integrations and backend services.
  • Knowledge of AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, and EventBridge.
  • Experience in integrating multiple systems and data sources.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and best practices.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with IoT or smart building platforms.
  • Knowledge of AWS IoT services and real-time data processing architectures.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Meraki and WiFi analytics solutions.
  • Experience in government or regulated environments.
