We're supporting a client delivering a large-scale digital platform and are seeking an experienced Senior Performance Test Engineer to join an Agile delivery team.
This is a hands-on role focused on designing, executing, and optimising performance testing strategies across cloud-based applications and API-driven services. You'll play a key role in ensuring systems are scalable, resilient, and capable of delivering excellent performance under varying levels of demand.
Key Skills Required
- Strong commercial experience as a Performance Test Engineer
- Expert-level experience with K6 (essential)
- Strong experience working within Microsoft Azure environments (essential)
- Proven experience of API Performance Testing, including load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing
- Experience testing applications built on cloud-based architectures (essential)
- Ability to analyse performance bottlenecks across APIs, applications, and infrastructure
- Experience creating and maintaining performance test scripts and frameworks
- Understanding of performance engineering principles and best practices
- Experience integrating performance testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Strong stakeholder communication skills and the ability to present performance findings and recommendations
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Gatling, JMeter, or LoadRunner
- Azure monitoring and observability tools including Azure Monitor and Application Insights
- Experience testing asynchronous workflows and event-driven architectures
- Exposure to distributed systems and microservices-based environments
- Knowledge of performance monitoring, diagnostics, and capacity planning
