Senior Project Manager

Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of complex Defence and National Security programmes. Reporting to a Programme Manager, you will lead medium to high complexity transition and transformation projects, ensuring delivery across scope, cost, risk, and stakeholder engagement.

DV Clearance essential.

Location : Basingstoke - full time on-site.

You will join a large, high-performing delivery function focused on delivering critical services and driving meaningful outcomes for Defence customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Define project scope, requirements, and objectives
• Manage governance and agreement with Project Boards and stakeholders
• Deliver projects end-to-end, including acceptance, handover, and closure
• Ensure compliance with project methodologies and controls
• Track and report on KPIs, progress, and risks
• Manage financials, forecasting, and cost control aligned to P&L
• Lead risk management and ensure mitigation plans are in place
• Coordinate project teams and resolve delivery issues
• Ensure milestone sign-off and support commercial/invoicing processes

Key Experience

• Experience delivering complex projects within Defence, Government, or secure environments
• Strong background in transition and transformation programmes
• Proven ability in financial management and governance
• Confident managing senior stakeholders in complex settings
• Knowledge of structured delivery frameworks (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, Agile)
