Reed Professional Services are currently supporting one of our largest and prestigious clients to find a new Senior Project manager to work on one of the new projects.  This role is pivotal in leading transformative projects at the intersection of Engineering and Technology. It demands a professional with a strong engineering background and a maverick mindset to navigate complex, cross-functional initiatives that will shape the future of operations.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead strategic projects bridging Engineering and Technology, ensuring alignment and delivery across both domains.
  • Regular visits to the Midlands Super Hub to engage directly with engineering teams and grasp operational realities.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, bottlenecks, and cultural friction points through influence, credibility, and smart networking.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison between Engineering and Tech departments, fostering collaboration and mutual understanding.
  • Champion innovation and transformation, aiding teams in adopting new ways of working without disruption.
  • Report progress, escalate issues, and ensure stakeholder alignment across all levels of the organisation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Engineering background, ideally with experience in Operational Technology (OT) and exposure to automotive or industrial sectors (e.g., Jaguar Land Rover).
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, thriving in ambiguous environments and capable of anticipatory thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with both engineers and technologists.
  • Maverick mindset: intelligent, credible, and unafraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work strategically and hands-on.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, working closely with business, operational, and IT teams.
  • Effective communication, influencing, collaboration, listening, and conflict management skills.
  • Proactive work approach, owning projects and making suggestions as needed.
