Senior Security Architect

Cyber Security Consultant

  • Daily Rate: £700 (Outside IR35)
  • Location: London/Birmingham (1 day onsite per week)
  • Duration: 6 months initially
  • Security Clearance: SC clearance essential

We are seeking Cyber Security Consultants for an initial six-month engagement to provide comprehensive security assurance, risk management, compliance, and technical project support across a dynamic digital portfolio. This role involves hands-on involvement and is not limited to pure architecture or delivery.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide hands-on security assurance across various projects including GovPass, Plan On, Salesforce, Horizon, ServiceNow, and PropTech/smart-building/OT-adjacent activities.
  • Engage in risk management, compliance checks, and technical support within a fast-paced, integration-heavy environment.
  • Work credibly with delivery teams and challenge senior stakeholders when necessary.
  • Document decisions, controls, and risks while keeping projects moving forward effectively.

Positions Available:

  1. Cyber Security Assurance Lead - Lead and manage cross-project assurance, stakeholder challenges, prioritisation, and security decision-making.
  2. Senior Security Consultant (Cloud & SaaS Assurance) - Focus on security assurance, SaaS/API integration risk, cloud security, and delivery support.
  3. Security Consultant - Support in gathering evidence, creating assurance artefacts, managing risks/actions, tracking remediation, and providing project-level security input.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong background in cyber assurance/security consulting.
  • Experience working with Cloud and SaaS/IaaS platforms, ideally AWS.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of challenging delivery teams constructively.
  • Practical hands-on delivery experience, not just advisory.
  • Ability to make clear recommendations and support or action them.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to GovAssure or similar public sector assurance frameworks.
  • Experience with operational technology, IoT, smart building, or property technology.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, ServiceNow, or similar complex SaaS environments.
  • Experience in secure, regulated, and audited environments.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong stakeholder management and engagement.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and advice as a critical friend.
  • Capable of engaging with various stakeholders from developers to CISOs.
  • Ability to recognize and facilitate improvement in technology, security, and business maturity.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Relevant cyber or Cloud (AWS) certifications are beneficial but not essential.

Sector/Background Preference:

  • Central Government/Public Sector experience preferred.
