Day-to-day of the role:
  • Design, code, test, and document a range of applications from small scale to large, complex or mission-critical, in a cloud-first environment using MS Azure with C# and Python.
  • Collaborate closely with test engineers to align on acceptance criteria, code base, and test coverage.
  • Proactively investigate, diagnose, and resolve system issues, while also evaluating existing processes for potential improvements.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver digital services that are highly user-focused and successful, ensuring adherence to governance standards.
  • Develop toolkits and APIs for integration, performance optimisation, security, and scalability.
  • Explore innovative problem-solving techniques in a fail-fast environment to meet functionality needs.
  • Apply HMG IA technical security controls in line with ISO 27001 & the Security Policy Framework (SPF).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in delivering technical solutions as part of large projects.
  • Proficient with modern delivery models such as Scrum and Agile.
  • Strong experience with cloud technologies, particularly Azure, and Azure DevOps.
  • Skilled in Git and advocating DevOps principles.
  • Excellent understanding of C#, web services, and RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of architectural principles and design patterns such as SOA and Micro-Services.
  • Experience in writing SQL statements.
