We are seeking a Service Improvement & Assurance Officer to assist and contribute to the strategic service improvement and assurance frameworks, focusing on evidencing impact and outcomes for children, young people, and families. This role supports the Head of Corporate Assurance (Internal Audit) in progressing service improvements aligned with Global Internal Audit Standards.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Support continuous improvement, assurance, and governance systems to enhance service and practice development.
- Play a key role in the development and maintenance of evidence repositories and documentation for regulatory and statutory tests of assurance.
- Undertake service improvement initiatives relevant to the service area, fostering a culture of continuous learning and promoting best practices.
- Engage in project work and research to support continuous improvement and assurance frameworks, ensuring high-quality outputs within set timescales.
- Assist in the preparation for statutory and regulatory inspections and other tests of assurance, producing high-quality documentation and information.
- Deliver and analyse quality assurance and auditing activities that support practice development and improvement, adhering to set standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in continuous service improvement with a strong enthusiasm for improving service delivery.
- Proven ability to advise and negotiate with a cross-section of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience handling highly confidential, sensitive data and information.
- Proficiency in using and developing a wide range of computerised information systems.
- Knowledge of national and local government policies and agendas, particularly in children’s services and safeguarding.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages.
- Understanding of service improvement and quality assurance methodologies and their impact on outcomes for children, young people, and families.
