Position: Software Test Engineer Location: Enfield, United Kingdom Hybrid: 3 days in office SC Clearable: Must be able to pass an SC Clearance (lived in the UK for over 5 years)Right to Work: Cannot provide sponsorship

Job Scope

The Software Test Engineer is responsible for building and testing software to support products and services within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and test software to support products and services.
• Produce and maintain software build and test specifications.
• Act as a technical liaison with customers and collaborators on software-related matters.
• Contribute to improving software testability.
• Undertake additional project tasks as required by management.
• Perform any other tasks associated with this role.

Requirements

• Strong technical background.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in PC usage and MS Office.
• Good understanding of the Software Engineering Lifecycle, particularly test and integration.
• Knowledge of scripting/programming languages for automating builds and testing.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including sailing with ships in the UK and abroad.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of practical experience testing software for PCs running Windows.
• Experience writing test plans, specifications, and reports.
• Experience building software and creating installers (desirable).
• Previous experience in a similar role within a technical or engineering organization (preferred).

Qualifications

• A good Engineering degree with software content or equivalent. Lower qualifications may be considered if supported by relevant experience.
