Workday Specialist

Reed Finance is partnering with a leading organisation in the Northeast to appoint a dynamic and experienced Workday Specialist to play a critical role in their Finance Function.

Fulltime | Permanent | Hybrid / Remote working | salary up to £70k with additional bonus structure

Workday Functional Specialist – Core Financials

Core Purpose

Manage configuration, support and optimisation of Workday Core Financials (GL, Journals, Banking, Projects, Allocations)

Ensure accurate transactions, smooth period close, and strong ledger structure

Key Accountabilities

System Configuration

Maintain setups: Journals, Ledgers, Periods, Allocations, Consolidations

Support month-end activities (journals, allocations, revaluations)

Manage finance calendars and ensure readiness for close

Data & Structure Ownership

Maintain Chart of Accounts, cost centres, company structures

Ensure outputs align with accounting policy and reporting needs

Document financial rules and maintain Finance Data Dictionary

Collaboration & Support

Work with Product Owner, Finance teams, and external systems

Support integrations, ledger postings, testing and releases

Troubleshoot GL and journal issues

Common Responsibilities

Change Management: Testing, releases, post-deployment validation

Documentation: Config records, data logic, user guidance

Collaboration: Cross-team working (Finance, Procurement, TSG, users)

Flexibility: Provide backup across Workday Finance modules

Compliance: Support audit and financial controls
