Join the IT department at a leading technology firm, where we are dedicated to maintaining and optimising the organisation's technology infrastructure. We are seeking a System Administrator to work collaboratively with various business teams to ensure the security, efficiency, and reliability of all IT systems.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Infrastructure Operations & Maintenance: Maintain and administer servers, storage systems, and core infrastructure to ensure stability, availability, and performance.
- Server & Virtualisation Management: Manage virtual environments, configure virtual machines, and maintain host clusters.
- Networking & Connectivity: Support and troubleshoot network issues, maintain network documentation, and collaborate on network upgrades.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Administer cloud platforms, manage cloud-based servers, and implement cloud governance policies.
- Backup, Storage & Disaster Recovery: Maintain backup systems, test disaster recovery procedures, and manage storage solutions.
- Security & Compliance: Implement security measures, monitor vulnerabilities, and support compliance audits.
- Automation & Scripting: Use PowerShell to automate tasks and improve processes.
- Incident, Problem & Change Management: Serve as an escalation point for infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and participate in change management processes.
- Hardware & Resource Management: Manage the lifecycle of infrastructure assets and ensure proper configuration of physical systems.
- Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement: Lead infrastructure projects, evaluate new technologies, and enhance system reliability and efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong commitment to customer service and high satisfaction levels.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows servers, networking, and cybersecurity.
- Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
- Experience with Cisco network hardware, including Meraki.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and rapidly establish good working relationships..
Additional Responsibilities:
- Continuously work on tasks until completion, prioritizing multiple open cases.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with company staff to facilitate necessary repairs.
- Research new technologies to improve business operations.
- Support other IT assets such as telephones and security cameras.
- Provide analytics and reporting to the business.
