Workday HCM System Lead

We are seeking a Workday HCM System Lead to act as the go-to expert for our HR & OD team. This pivotal role involves leading stakeholder engagement, navigating change, solving MI challenges strategically, and building collaborative relationships across Payroll, Finance, IT, and the broader business. The successful candidate will lead the delivery and optimisation of Workday modules, ensuring they align with our business needs and strategic priorities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Serve as the primary Workday expert for the HR & OD team, facilitating stakeholder engagement and helping colleagues adapt to changes.
  • Lead the configuration and continuous improvement of Workday modules, collaborating with stakeholders to redesign processes and streamline operations.
  • Work closely with business leads to ensure Workday capabilities effectively support organisational goals.
  • Manage system enhancements, biannual updates, and releases to maximise business value and enhance user adoption.
  • Develop and maintain critical people data and dashboards, providing actionable insights and serving as a trusted source of truth for team leaders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and experience in optimising HR systems and digital platforms.
  • Proven ability to work with stakeholders at all levels, manage complex challenges, and influence senior leadership.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of successful collaboration with IT, Finance, Payroll, and business units.
  • Experience leading change management programmes and reimagining HR processes.
  • Ability to remain calm and proactive when facing challenges, with a resilient nature.
  • Proficiency in digital tools for managing change requests and tracking progress.
  • Solid understanding of HR fundamentals and a vision for a modern, efficient, digital-first People function.
  • In-depth knowledge of Workday configuration, particularly in key modules such as HCM, Benefits, Recruiting, Performance & Talent, Learning, Absence, and Advanced Compensation.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think both strategically and tactically.
  • Deep understanding of Workday security, data integrity, and compliance requirements.
