Systems Engineer – UK MoD & Government Systems
Location: Redhill (UK) Salary: £45,000 to £50,000
Are you an experienced Systems Engineer with a passion for delivering secure, technically robust solutions for government and defence environments? This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in designing, configuring and delivering mission-critical systems that support national security and operational capability. You’ll join a proactive engineering team working on complex, high-impact projects across the UK.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for delivering end-to-end technical support across government and defence projects, including:
- Designing and configuring systems for MoD/Government programmes.
- Liaising with project teams to support timely and accurate delivery of assigned work.
- Testing and evaluating new equipment to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Ensuring all technical documentation and drawings are produced to a high standard.
- Verifying equipment and software against project requirements and performance criteria.
- Visiting customer sites when required to support project roll-outs and technical activity.
- Defining IP structures and providing technical guidance for system implementations.
- Supporting customer meetings, future system enhancements, and solution planning.
- Participating in the MoD/Government duty engineering rota, offering technical support when needed.
What we’re looking for
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- Strong understanding of networks and system design within secure or regulated environments.
- The ability to take ownership of tasks, make sound decisions and follow through to completion.
- Experience interpreting and delivering technical requirements for complex engineering projects.
- Confidence in producing accurate documentation and working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Eligibility to obtain, or already hold, UK Security Clearance (SC or DV depending on project needs).
A relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience is preferred, but strong practical experience in MoD/Government or secure systems engineering is equally valued.
