Maidenhead, Berkshire (SL6) | Hybrid Working £15.66 per hour PAYE Immediate Start Available Temporary Assignment: Up to 3 Months Initially (Likely Extension)
We are recruiting for a Technical Officer to join a Local Authority based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, supporting a critical Local Land Charges Migration Project.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong GIS, spatial mapping, data administration, and analytical skills to contribute to a high-profile project transferring Local Land Charges data to HM Land Registry (HMLR).
The Role
As Technical Officer, you will provide technical and administrative support to the project team, helping identify, collect, record, analyse and cleanse complex spatial and property-related data.
This project-specific role will focus on resolving historical data issues and supporting the migration of records between systems while ensuring data accuracy and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Data Migration & Cleansing
- Support the migration of Local Land Charges data to HM Land Registry.
- Investigate and resolve deferred records caused by:
- Missing spatial data
- Incorrect mapping information
- Property matching issues
- Historical address discrepancies
- Review and validate geographical and property-related information.
Systems Administration & Analysis
Working across the Council's systems, including:
- TLC (Land Charges System)
- Uniform (Planning Case Management System)
You'll be responsible for:
- Reviewing planning application records.
- Verifying spatial and mapping data.
- Comparing information across systems.
- Identifying and correcting data inconsistencies.
Research & Investigation
- Conduct historical property and land research.
- Review archived planning records.
- Investigate historical land and property information.
- Resolve complex data discrepancies using a range of information sources.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience using GIS systems and spatial mapping tools Knowledge of geographical, property-based, or mapping datasets Strong data administration and record management skills Experience investigating and resolving data discrepancies Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills Ability to work independently and manage large volumes of data
Desirable
- Experience within a Local Authority, Planning, Land Charges, or Property environment.
- Knowledge of planning systems such as Uniform or similar.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Experience working with complex datasets and data migration projects.
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working model.
- Approximately 2-3 days per week in the office in Maidenhead.
- Remaining days can be worked remotely.
- Office attendance is required to access historical planning records and archived documentation.
