A public sector organisation is seeking experienced Technical Team Leaders to join a major international security systems delivery programme.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the installation and deployment of critical security infrastructure at secure locations across the UK and overseas. Working within highly secure government environments, you will provide technical leadership, oversee installation teams, and deliver specialist security systems projects around the globe.
The Opportunity
As a Technical Team Leader, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with team leadership responsibilities, supporting the full project lifecycle from planning and preparation through to on-site installation and commissioning.
You will play a key role in delivering complex security systems projects, often in challenging overseas environments, while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest government security standards.
This is an initial 12-month contract based on site in Milton Keynes with international travel required in the role. The daily rate for the role is £445 per day inside IR35 via an Umbrella company. Due to the nature of the role the successful candidates must be a British National and must either hold DV clearance or be eligible to obtain.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation teams delivering security systems projects in the UK and internationally.
- Review technical designs, drawings and project documentation.
- Complete material take-offs and support equipment procurement activities.
- Test systems and equipment prior to deployment.
- Plan delivery activities and prepare equipment and installation resources.
- Produce Health & Safety documentation and safe systems of work.
- Coordinate site activities and liaise with customers, stakeholders and delivery partners.
- Provide technical leadership across CCTV, Access Control, Public Address Systems and associated infrastructure.
- Deliver knowledge transfer, coaching and hands-on training to engineers and technical staff.
- Ensure installations are delivered to government security standards and requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to stakeholders at all levels.
Required Experience & Skills
We are looking for candidates with demonstrable experience installing and leading teams within secure or high-security environments.
Essential experience includes one or more of the following:
- Automated Access Control Systems
- CCTV Systems
- Public Address Systems
- Structured Data Cabling & Infrastructure
- Electrical testing and installation requirements
Experience with the following manufacturers and systems is highly desirable:
- Hanwha
- I-Pro
- Hirsch / Identiv
- ASL / Zenitel
- Bosch (Presideo)
Qualifications Required
- Level 3 qualification in an Electrical or Electronic discipline
- SMSTS or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
- Current ECS Card (Installation/Approved Competency Level)
- Strong understanding of risk assessments and safe systems of work
