VMWare Engineer - Birmingham (DV CLEARED)

We are seeking a VMWare Engineer to join our programme team for a significant hardware rollout for a large Government account. This role involves building and configuring ESX devices according to build guides as part of a dedicated deployment team.

Contract Rate: £500 per day inside IR35 Location: Birmingham Job Type: Contractor (On-site)Contract Duration: ASAP to 31/03/2026 (expected)

Mandatory: Must have DV Clearance in place.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Build and configure ESX devices as per the provided build guides within a deployment team.
• Visit customer sites to install hardware within racks.
• Provide remote support of hardware during customer testing.
• Regularly update the Project Manager and team lead on progress.
• Engage with service teams to ensure new hardware is effectively taken into support.
• Be flexible with work hours as some implementations may occur outside normal working hours due to customer activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven track record as an infrastructure engineer in a project environment, building solutions from build guides.
• Broad technical skills across an enterprise environment, with demonstrated skills in infrastructure management and VMWare/VSphere support and implementation.
• Ability to work well within a team and develop positive working relationships with other project teams.
• Excellent communication skills for interactions with peers, management, and customers.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience working with large government customers.
• Positive, can-do attitude.
• Self-starter who can implement solutions with minimal supervision, think through issues, and provide recommendations for resolution.
