Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workplace Integration Engineer to join a high-performing Integration Practice within a multi-skilled agile team. This role offers a varied and technically challenging environment where collaboration, shared problem-solving, and cross-training are fundamental. You will work closely with Network Architects and Project Managers to design, configure and document technical deliverables from a broad range of vendors and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of allocated work packages, from design and prototyping through to production deployment and early-life support.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet defined functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Configure, integrate and document solutions across Windows, Linux and associated infrastructure components.
  • Produce clear and maintainable technical, support and design documentation.
  • Develop and automate repeatable deployment and test processes.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues, driving effective root-cause analysis and resolution.
  • Deliver updates and enhancements in response to evolving user needs.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers and project managers to maintain alignment with design intent and project milestones.

Essential Experience

  • Ability to interpret and modify design documentation to resolve or prevent defects.
  • Strong experience configuring Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS), including automated deployment using Ansible and Terraform.
  • Advanced batch scripting capabilities and a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP packet structure.
  • Proven experience operating within a DevOps team, delivering and supporting integrated solutions.
  • Experience developing and managing Apache/PHP web environments.
  • Ability to create automated, repeatable unit tests to validate expected and unexpected behaviours.
  • Strong experience supporting solutions through pilot, roll-out and ongoing production operation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Windows administration experience within an enterprise environment, including:
    • GPO-based configuration
    • Registry and filesystem configuration
    • PowerShell cmdlets
    • WMI
    • Windows Update, patching and Windows Installer

Desirable Skills

  • Experience designing and delivering software solutions using Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, PKI, VMware virtualisation, Windows Server 2019, and creation of hardened gold builds.
  • Experience with system hardening (GPOs, policies, secure configuration).
  • Knowledge of Nexus repositories for configuration management.
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Python for automation or test creation.
  • Experience using Robot Framework for automated test execution.
