Location: Hybrid, with a minimum of two days per week at Langley Mill, Derbyshire

Salary: up to £35,000 depending on experience
About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join our Group Analytics team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong technical ability and experience working with business data.
You will support the development, maintenance, and improvement of our reporting and analytics environment, working across SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and multiple ERP systems. The role is key to ensuring business users have access to accurate, reliable, and timely data to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support SQL queries for reporting and data extraction
- Work with data from multiple ERP systems and internal platforms
- Support the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models
- Assist with Microsoft Fabric processes (Datamarts, Warehouses, Lakehouses, and reporting outputs)
- Transform, clean, and validate data from multiple sources
- Support Excel reporting and Power Query processes where required
- Troubleshoot reporting issues, data inconsistencies, and failed refreshes
- Help improve the quality, structure, and reliability of reporting outputs
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver data solutions
- Document data logic, reporting processes, and recurring tasks
- Identify opportunities to improve manual reporting and enhance data quality
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong SQL skills, including writing and troubleshooting queries
- Experience supporting or developing Power BI reports and dashboards
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or exposure to Fabric-based tools
- Experience working with data from ERP or business systems
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas and data structuring
- Working knowledge of Power Query or similar tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Understanding of data validation, accuracy, and reporting principles
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability

- Python for data processing or automation

- DAX and Power BI optimisation
- Data modelling and semantic model design

- Git or version control
- Experience within manufacturing, print, packaging, or labels
