We're working with an established software company operating in a specialist niche, the kind of place where the engineering matters, the codebase is taken seriously, and nobody's reinventing the wheel for the sake of a conference talk.

They're hiring two C++ Software Engineers to strengthen an already capable team, and they're open on level, graduate through to mid/senior.

What this actually is

This is server-side, backend, production C++. You'll be writing and maintaining modern C++ code on systems where performance and correctness aren't nice-to-haves, they're the job. You'll own complex development work, push engineering standards forward, and work alongside Senior Developers who have real depth.

It's an R&D-flavoured environment. That means curiosity is valued more than confidence, and "I want to understand how this works" will take you further here than "I've done this before."

The team is also honest about the future: C++ is the foundation, but there's genuine scope to grow into Rust and Go over time if that's where your interests take you.

You're the right C++ Software Engineer if you have

• Commercial C++ experience in a production environment: you know what it means to ship code that can't fall over
• Linux or Windows experience (ideally both, but either works)
• Strong debugging instincts and an engineering mindset built around quality and performance
• Genuine curiosity; this role suits someone who reads beyond the ticket
• Bonus (genuinely optional) for exposure to Rust or Go.

The package

• £35,000–£65,000 depending on level
• 15%+ performance bonus
• Profit share bonus
• Up to 10% pension
• Hybrid working: more flexibility extended to more senior C++ Engineers
