Mid-Level Full Stack Developer (PHP / React)

Role: Full-time, Fully Remote

Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annum

The Role

We are partnering with an established organization to recruit a Mid-Level Full Stack Developer for their engineering team. You will be responsible for the ongoing evolution of a flagship digital platform used by a global audience. The role involves modernizing and scaling a complex system that manages high-volume data, intricate user workflows, and content management.

This is a technical position for a developer who enjoys working across the entire stack, designing robust backend architecture in PHP while building performant, user-facing interfaces in React.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using modern PHP frameworks.
• Build responsive frontend components using React (Hooks and functional components).
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs to support a data-heavy environment.
• Collaborate with product and operations stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices and documentation.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and security.

Technical Requirements

• Backend: Strong commercial experience with PHP and relational databases (MySQL or similar).
• Frontend: Proficiency in React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Architecture: Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Tools: Competency with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mindset: A pragmatic approach to working within existing codebases while driving modern improvements.

Details

This position is fully remote and offers the chance to work on a platform with significant global reach. While experience in SaaS or workflow-driven systems is beneficial, it is not a requirement.
