Head of Data Engineering

Salary: Circa £110,000 + 20% bonus + Company car etc

Location: UK (Remote first, looking at 2 days a month in either Birmingham, London or Basingstoke)

No VISA support

We are looking for someone to build, mature, and lead the organisation's Data Engineering Practice

.

This is a leadership focused role, not particularly hands on, but needs credibility understanding modern tooling, such as Databricks and with a passion for developing people, driving standards etc

What you'll be doing:

➡️Help shape and grow their Data Engineering Practice,

➡️Support and mentor engineers, helping progress their careers.

➡️Act as the link between engineering teams and senior leadership.

➡️Drive the adoption of modern DE approaches, with a focus on AI and MLOps.

What we're looking for:

⚪Experience leading data engineering teams, practices, or communities

⚪A strong DE background, with hands on experience of Databricks

⚪Good knowledge of AWS and modern data architectures.

⚪Recent exposure to AI and MLOps.

⚪Strong stakeholder management skills.

⚪The technical credibility to ask the right questions, challenge when needed, and make sure the team is delivering high-quality solutions.
