Staff Quality Assurance Engineer

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Staff Quality Engineer with substantial expertise in test automation and quality frameworks across web, mobile, and API platforms. This role requires someone who excels at delivering complex technical projects independently whilst collaborating effectively across engineering teams. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building scalable solutions, possess strong communication abilities, and be ready to make a meaningful impact on our global quality practices.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Architecture & Strategy

• Design and implement enterprise-scale test management solutions
• Establish quality governance across engineering, ensuring quality standards are met
• Build frameworks that support our global expansion and localisation requirements
• Establish quality metrics and KPIs that drive continuous improvement
• Create sustainable automation strategies that scale with our growth
• Define quality gates and risk assessment processes within the SDLC
• Build observability into quality processes for proactive issue detection
• Establish processes that make the cost of poor quality visible and actionable

Technical Leadership

• Evaluate and standardise testing tools, techniques and procedures across the organisation
• Optimise test execution performance and reduce feedback cycle times
• Implement modern testing practices, including shift-left, contract testing.
• Build intelligence into test selection and execution through data-driven approaches
• Develop non-deterministic testing strategies for AI-augmented features

Organisational Enablement

• Coach and influence engineering leadership, product management and stakeholders towards a culture of quality
• Partner with Product, DevOps, Security, and Compliance teams to embed quality throughout the entire delivery pipeline
• Evaluate, select and drive the adoption of quality tools and frameworks that align with organisational needs.
• Mentor engineers at all levels on testing best practices and automation

Technologies You'll Work With

• Languages: PHP, TS, Python, Go, Bash
• Testing: Cypress, PyTest, JMeter, Maestro, BrowserStack
• Observability: Datadog
• Infrastructure: Docker, AWS, CI/CD pipeline
• API contract testing tools, chaos engineering, and multi-region testing strategies
• Scale: 150K concurrent users, millions of daily transactions

Required Experience & Skills

• Extensive QA Engineering experience with proven success as a QA Staff/Principal Engineer
• Proven expertise building quality frameworks that scale across multiple teams and geographies
• Experience with data-driven quality metrics
• Background in modern testing practices
• Experience in B2B/SaaS environments with complex multi-tenant architectures
• Strategic thinker who can balance long-term vision with pragmatic delivery
• Someone who thrives on bringing order to complexity through systems thinking
• Experience transforming quality from gatekeeping to enabling function
• Ability to make quality the path of least resistance through tooling and automation
• Passion for quality as an enabler of business velocity
• Interest in emerging practices like AI-augmented testing and ML validation
