Clinical Coder/Administrator

Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Clinical Coder to join our friendly and hard working Administrative Team. Available hours 16.5 hours per week.

Experience in medical terminology, clinical coding or summarising is essential.

Main duties of the job

  • Adding codes for incoming hospital correspondence (medical terminology)
  • Prefilling medical proformas prior to being passed to clinician for sign off
  • Dedicated time for entering patient sensitive data onto GP clinical system.
  • To cover elements of all practice administration where required supporting other areas and teams within the practice.

Job responsibilities

To be responsible for the read-coding of relevant information into the patients electronic healthcare records on SystmOne clinical system, adhering to the practice coding policy. In addition, the post-holder will also support the multi-disciplinary team, providing administrative support as required, in line with the needs of the practice.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential
  • GCSE Mathematics and English ( C or above)
Desirable
  • National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ)
  • SystmOne TPP Trained

Experience

Essential
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
  • Experience of clinical coding
Desirable
  • Experience of working in a GP practice
