Role overview
As a Project Costings Controller, you will support multiple projects by maintaining financial oversight, monitoring project performance and ensuring robust project controls are in place. You'll work collaboratively with Project Managers, Finance, Service Delivery and internal stakeholders to produce accurate reporting, manage project documentation and ensure projects are delivered in line with company procedures.
This position would suit someone who thrives in a structured environment, enjoys analysing project performance and takes pride in maintaining exceptional levels of organisation and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain project cost forecasts, tracking actual expenditure against forecast budgets.
- Maintain project turnover forecasts and assist with the preparation of customer invoices.
- Monitor invoice payments, highlighting overdue payments and supporting Project Managers with resolution.
- Track project profitability, identifying projects that are not achieving expected financial performance.
- Proactively manage project variations, ensuring all variation orders are recorded and processed within customer timescales.
- Manage the monthly engineer timesheet process.
- Maintain project correspondence logs and project documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of project reports, project board papers and management information.
- Ensure all project control activities comply with company procedures and Head Office requirements.
Essential
- Previous experience within a Project Controller, Project Coordinator, Project Administrator or similar project support role.
- Strong financial and commercial awareness with experience monitoring project costs and forecasts.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
