Assistant Accountant
Location: Staines (Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office)

The OpportunityRobert Half is delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, private equity-backed technology business to recruit an ambitious Assistant Accountant.
This is a newly created role within the Group Finance team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the financial reporting for several overseas entities while working closely with senior finance leaders. As the business continues to grow through innovation and expansion, you'll play a key role in supporting month-end reporting, improving financial processes and contributing to finance transformation projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant looking to develop within a dynamic, high-growth environment that offers genuine career progression and exposure to international finance.
Key Responsibilities- Take ownership of the month-end close for a portfolio of overseas entities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with the production of consolidated management accounts and statutory reporting.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Prepare VAT returns and support indirect tax compliance.
- Support the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Assist with finance transformation projects, systems improvements and process automation.
- Produce financial analysis and support ad hoc reporting requirements.
- Part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Experience within a finance team or an accountancy practice looking to make a first move into industry.
- Strong understanding of month-end processes and financial reporting.
- Excellent Excel skills and strong systems aptitude.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite experience advantageous but not essential).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills.
- A proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement and technology.
